How Much Does a Gym Membership Cost in Ireland in 2026?
"How much is a gym membership?" sounds like a simple question. Then you start looking and find monthly fees, weekly fees, joining fees, annual fees, off-peak fees and "from" prices with asterisks. Let's untangle it.
This guide covers the main types of gym in Ireland, what to compare before you join, and what every FUSE Gym membership includes. Prices below are from our pricing page and apply at all 7 clubs.
The main types of gym
1. Low-cost and community gyms. Gym floor, cardio and often classes, without a pool or spa. Usually the cheapest way to train regularly.
2. Leisure centres and health clubs. Gym plus a pool, sauna, steam room or spa. You pay more for those extras.
3. Coached and small-group gyms. Every session is coached, often in small groups. Priced more like personal training.

Flex+: €13.99 a week, with a €30 joining fee. Includes all classes and all 7 clubs.
Annual+: €399 a year (about €7.67 a week), with no joining fee. Includes all classes and all 7 clubs.
1 Day Pass: €15 at all 7 clubs.
3 Day Pass: €40 at all 7 clubs.
Full details are on our pricing page.
Weekly vs monthly: compare like with like
Some gyms price weekly, others monthly. To compare, multiply a weekly price by 52 and divide by 12. For example, €11.99 a week works out at about €51.96 a month, and €13.99 a week at about €60.62 a month. A €399 annual plan is €33.25 a month.
The extras to check before you sign
Joining fee. Common, often around €30. Some plans or offers waive it.
Contract length. Is it 12 months, or rolling? How much notice do you need to cancel? At FUSE Gym, Annual+ and weekly plans need 7 days' notice to stop renewing. See the terms.
What's included. Classes? Other locations? A training plan? At FUSE Gym, every plan includes a custom training and meal plan; classes come with Flex+ and Annual+.
Pausing. Can you freeze if you're injured or travelling? FUSE members can pause for 30 to 90 days for €15 per pause (free with a medical cert). See our FAQs.
Off-peak rules. Cheaper, but only if the hours suit you.
Price after the offer. If the first year is discounted, what happens in year two?
Questions to ask on a gym tour
Before you hand over your card, it's worth asking:
What's the total cost in the first year, including the joining fee?
How do I cancel, and how much notice do I give?
Are classes included in my plan, and do I need to book them?
Can I use other locations?
What help do I get when I start: an induction, a plan, check-ins?
When is it busiest, and when is it quiet?
A good gym will answer all of these happily and in writing. If the answers are vague, that tells you something.
What every FUSE membership includes
To make comparisons easy, here's what you get with every FUSE plan, as listed on our pricing page:
FUSE Fitness Foundations access (our online community, with a personalised plan and programmes)
A custom training and meal plan
Your home gym, with a Day 1 induction
No long contracts
Flex+ and Annual+ add all classes and access to all 7 FUSE Gym clubs.
Day passes: a good way to test
If you're not sure, a day pass is a low-risk way to try a gym. At FUSE Gym the 1 Day Pass is €15 and the 3 Day Pass is €40, at all 7 clubs.
So what should you pay?
The cheapest gym is the one you'll actually use. A €30 gym you never visit costs more per session than a €60 gym you go to three times a week. Work out roughly how often you'll go, then divide the monthly price by your visits.
Then go and try it. Every FUSE Gym club offers a free trial:
Artane | Blanchardstown | Smithfield | Bray | Newbridge | Cork | Waterford
